Our History
Jarvis Vision Center began as Courtney Vision Center in 1978 in downtown Murray, KY. In 1996 Dr. James Courtney moved his expanding optometry practice to 1208 Johnson Blvd, where he served the eye care needs of the Murray community for 29 years. In July of 2007, Dr. Reed Jarvis joined Dr. Courtney and his staff and formed Courtney & Jarvis Vision Center, PLLC. Dr. Courtney passed away in 2008, and the practice continued under the leadership of Dr. Jarvis. In 2012, the name was officially changed to Jarvis Vision Center, PLLC. Since then, the practice has expanded with the addition of Dr. Jesse Williams in 2015 and the acquisition of Eyecare Specialties in 2017.
In February 2020 we moved to our new facility at 1806 N 4th Street. We then acquired Murray Family Eyecare in 2022 after Dr. Benjamin Hall made the decision to retire. Shortly after, we welcomed Dr. Mary Jo Moore to our practice that same year.
